Jep, they are awesome tanks but they do need a lot of color supplementation to look decent. Plus side is, there is enough light to grow anything you want anywhere you want, but too much light up top for some things.

When I had mine it ran with a single Tunze 6015 centered between the returns, right under the overflow. I ran some LED strips stuck to the reflector underneath the glass shield to supplement color. Two were all blue and two were Magenta/Blue. It ended up looking pretty good and was extremely easy to care for. Whatever diodes they used didn't seem to grow any algae at all, even with water changes 3 months apart at times in a heavy stocked (6 fish) nano cube.

Let me know if you have any questions, I ran mine for a little over a year but have also run plenty of other nano cubes. I'm sure it'll look great though!

I agree with Ted on everything but the algae growth. If you overfeed in the rookie way that I did those lights will grow GHA and Bryopsis faster than an Iowa farmer grows tax subsidies.
    A little proof
You probably won't have that problem, but I ended up with the InTank media basket, a reactor running GFO and carbon, and the reef octo BH-1000 as remidies (fits perfectly across the side chambers, but it's not exactly pretty). Once I had that under control I really had good luck with growth and keeping it relatively clean. I was also vexed by the 75 Watts of piercing white and only decided against adding color when I found the deal I got on my 45. I'm always going to regret selling that tank (though I can confirm that they hold their value well). For a stand alone, AIO system I don't think you could beat it by far.
