    Radion Intensity Poll

    Chicagoland Reefers-

I'd like to poll the Radion users to see what the majority of you all keep your intensity at. Also, can you share your experience with either having to decrease or increase the intensity if you have made changes after setting them up? Pictures of the corals beefore and after would be great to help us recognize what to look for when adjusting our intensity.

    I'll go first...

I initially had my lights set to 70% with a two week acclimation period using EcoTech's acclimation program. After the acclimation period was over, I noticed that my corals were bleaching out and were not looking great. I decided to decrease teh intensity to 30% and the corals have been getting their color back. I've also noticed that many of the corals look much better with polyp extension back to normal.

I own a pair of G2's they are hanging 8" above the water level on a 24" tall tank. I initially had max intensity set at 65% with a 50% of max acclimation period over a 4 week period. My Acros and Mind trick monti were not happy, i set the max intensity up to 80% with 4 week acclimation period set at 70% of the maximum intensity, everyday my sps is looking a little bit better, more PE and coloring up nicely. The SPS are sitting in the top 1/3 of my tank at the moment and improving by the day.

My corals are doing well with the current 25% intensity but lacking color. I bumped it up to 30% and I am hoping this helps. The poly extension is good so the light is working....now I need to improve off of that.
