He's so cute! He looks nervous still but it will pass.

Thanks Walt! I certainly hope so. He's been exploring the tank a lot more but I still haven't seen him eat. He doesn't look thin by any means, so hopefully he'll eat soon.

My next project is waiting for new windows and then putting up UV blocking window clings. Holy crap these things are awesome. The windows have a slight grey tint with them on, but the carpet no longer gets warm from the rays coming through!! It blocks 99% of UV so hopefully that'll stop the diatom outbreak. It's clear that its from the sunlight, because it's only growing in a linear fashion where the light streaks in lol.

Right now, we have basically a 12x 18' wall in the front of our house, which faces east, covered in windows. Needless to say our living room is basically a hot box every morning, and my tank is in that room (only place it would be feasibly to keep it both weight and space wise). The three architectural windows up top are being replaced in the next couple weeks so my hands are tied till that's done, which sucks lol.

It's a PIA to install, but it works amazingly well. If you have direct light windows and the room gets too hot, this is the solution without using solar curtains.
