Effective way of cleaning out sump

How do you clean out the detritus from your sump? (if you accumulate any that is) I clean it out with a baster, it is time consuming and I feel like I make more of a mess then I clean up. I pulled a ton of Cheato out and the water in there looked like a snow globe. (Before anyone asks why I threw out the Cheato- Bubble Algae) If you have a better way/ suggestion of a better way feel free to let me know.

How about a MaxiJet PH with hoses attached to both intake and output. Long tubing on the intake so it gives you some reach.

Hey trackfast, I also thought about going this route; however, if there are chunks debris, food, etc. then it will get stuck in propeller.
I shouldn't say I thought about this route, I tried it LOL - it didn't work out so well HAHA - Sump 1 .... PH 0!
